Argumentative Essay Errors - How to Avoid These Common Errors
Argumentative Essay Errors - How to Avoid These Common ErrorsArgumentative essays are not as easy as they look. You need to be able to think on your feet, and be able to come up with original ideas. Some teachers will tell you that you should only use one sample argumentative essay as your basis for your own essay. If you choose to write a persuasive essay, using one standard template as your model is not a good idea.We have all seen arguments in argumentative essays. Maybe it was a debate in college, or in a high school English class. Whatever the case, there are some basic mistakes that are made with the arguments. Here are five examples of bad argumentative essays. Use these tips to avoid making these errors in your own essay.Using a 'before'after' template: By using this tactic, you will give the reader the same impression you want to give them by using the template. In other words, by repeating something over, you will make it seem like you have something new to say. But in the end, what you really have is the same old argument. When writing an argumentative essay, never repeat anything over again?Using last-minute arguments: The last minute is the most popular time for writing an argumentative essay. So, students use this as an excuse to run out and get some random information to use as an argument. Before this time, try asking yourself if there is a better way to present the facts. For example, if you are going to use someone's past grades, instead of citing their grades, do research into their grade history, or ask a friend about their class history.Using the wrong formatting to justify your opinion: Another mistake students make when writing an argumentative essay is using too many formatting options. They do this because they believe that you can add this type of formatting options by clicking a button. But formatting options are not that easy to change, so when you click on a formatting option, it does not automatically save it. But it might make it look better for the audience, so they don't know how to change the formatting.Using quotes out of context: Use quotations sparingly in your argumentative essay. The best way to avoid this mistake is to always include only relevant quotes. In other words, never use out of context quotes. Another thing you can do is get permission from the person who said the quote before you use it.Choosing the wrong topics: When writing an argumentative essay, make sure that you pick a topic that is interesting to you. Choose topics that you already have some knowledge of, or topics that you would be interested in. This will make the essay more interesting, because it will highlight what you love about yourself, rather than what you hate about yourself. As you can see, there are many errors that occur in essays. However, if you know how to avoid these mistakes, you will improve your argumentative skills in no time. In the end, you will get your final grade higher, and your student essays will be more original than any other student's essay that has ever been written.
